Life can be ecstatic, exciting and extraordinary... if you make it to be.

DAYS LIKE THIS

There are days like this when I wake up wondering why I still feel like I'm 27, or even 21. It's as if life has not scarred me enough. Haha.

I shouldn't be bothered, except that sometimes I get scared that someday it will all just finally hit me, and when it does, I might not know how to deal with it.

Argh. Don't know where this came from. I woke up today feeling perky, and ready to stream all my favorite TV shows :) Now, I kind of want to be sad and depressed about being old. Maybe it's the nicotine withdrawal. And it's only been a day. Hehe.

Something I forgot to tell about P, he invited me to a retreat. I have nothing against retreats, and believe me, I have great respect for those who do it. But the last time I ever went to one was back in college. And that was a requirement for our graduation. I just don't feel comfortable in that environment. I mean, sometimes, I feel like I have to come up with an epiphany, otherwise, I'm not "in". Effort. Anyways, I politely said that it's not my thing and he hasn't brought it up since. Also, I want to say for the record that I'm just having fun with this crush thing. It's nice to have someone make you smile even when they don't mean to :)

I finally watched AVSL yesterday. Didn't care for the story much, and Sarah Geronimo's acting. But this much I can say, John Lloyd can make a killing in the movies by just staring into the monitor. I swear I melted in my seat. When did he become this cute??? Awww, I miss having someone stare at me that way - soulful yet sexy. Hahaha. I'm absolutely kilig. And so acting like I'm 17. :p

HALF-BAKED VACAY

- We had a couple of holidays this week (don't you just love city charter days), so I took my CTO today. I was intending to do nothing but de-stress, sleep a good 8 hours, watch TV... I did all of the above, except, I also had to squeeze in a couple of hours to work. When I left after 12 hours of work yesterday, I still had three pending escalations and 1 process map to create. Oh well, the perils of the job.

- I was trying to download software updates on Addie today, and found out I forgot my admin password. When I reset it, this Keychain login box started to appear and it bugged the hell out of me. I finally was able to figure it out. But man, it took a lot of tinkering before I finally decided to google it, and voila. There it was. The answer to my headache. Don't you ever wonder how we ever survived without google in the past? Shudder. Google is, for me, the greatest technological innovation in this lifetime.

- Speaking of Addie, I still haven't optimized her use and all I do with her is surf. I only have the basic softwares, so I can't even properly edit pictures with her. I still love her though. One day I can give her enough attention and start working on her enhancements :)

- And speaking of surfing, my SmartBro connection this week was just so crappy. When I called their customer care, they couldn't tell me what was going on but they told me some enhancements were made somewhere else but it shouldn't affect me, so they don't know. Good thing I have developed a new brand of patience for phone services because of my current work, but man, how could they not know what was wrong? Moving on.. I also hate the fact that I have to login to SmartBro everytime I switch laptops to access the internet. I don't use my work-issued laptop for non-work stuff nowadays, so when I do need to remotely login to work, I have to login and reconfigure settings. When I switch back, I do the same thing so I can surf with Addie. Hassle, pare. Will need to find a more efficient way to do my surfing and working hassle-free. That goes to my to do list #1001. :p

- Lastly, just want to give my shout out to a friend and officemate who is going thru some rough times these days... Hugs to you and hope you feel better soon. Let's just go get our boxing gloves and be even more fabulous :) Shout out to my best friend, Petite and hubby Mark as well. Congratulations! OMG. SOOO super happy for you guys.

- Haay. Fake vacay's almost over. Want a real one soon... Planning to head off to Pagudpud sometime October. Sana matuloy na :)

SIX DEGREES

When I have time, I read blogs. And today I decided to check out one of the links of one blog I read from time to time.. And tada, it's the blog of a (former) colleague. We didn't really know each other personally, but I know of her, and maybe talked about her in the pantry a couple of times. The things you find about a person via a blog. Interesting ;)

Speaking of finding blogs, I have this feeling that crushie may have found mine. He was acting strangely this week, not his usual lambing self. Crushie, I just wanna tell you, don't ya worry, I'm totally straight :) Just a little strange sometimes when it comes to my attractions. Hehe.

Summer is almost here, and our Pagudpud plan is still all screwed up. Need to have that nailed down before R goes home, coz it will be pretty hectic once he come back.

Wow, I can't believe that he's going to be home soon... I'm excited!

On to other things, my frequent OB visits have taken its toll on me with zero ROI to date. My hormonal imbalance is still giving me sleepless days (how weird is it to have daytime insomnia!), increasing belly fat (argh, this is the worst, I tell ya), and then of course, there's the whole effect on my reproductive system/cycle. Haay naku. I want to change doctors na. One of my colleagues recommended her doctor but she's not covered with our medical plan. Sayang naman kase. But, let me see how things work out. Otherwise, I will have to shell it out for the sake of my health (and sanity).

And to add more randomness to this already topsy-turvy post... let me share with you my best inventions list.

1. cellphones -- it can be ur ilaw during brownouts (or when your parking lot turns off the lights at 6AM during winters! asar), it can be ur mirror (for those with dual-cameras), it can be ur stalking buddy (take paparazzi photos or videos of ur crushies, wahaha!), it can be ur instant internet access when the need to google hits you while driving home from work -- all of these functions aside from being ur phone, camera, alarm clock, game console, mp3 player, calendar, calculator, etc. I absolutely luvet.
2. take out/delivery -- when i don't feel like getting out of the house for anything, not even for food, this option is just heaven. how, if they only deliver starbux :)
3. drive-thru -- when your living a fast-paced life, and eating is only an item in your to-do list (which can be deprioritized when other important/urgent things arise), instead of something that is necessary, any sort of invention that allows multi-tasking is worth raving for.
4. automatic cars -- with the horrible traffic situation in this country, i can only have nothing but praises for A/T cars.
5. vendo machines -- when going down one floor to the pantry is not an option, i get my semblance of "food" intake from the vendo.
6. the internet -- hello friendster (your one stop shop stalker tool) and hello blogs (it's like reality TV, only better, since you don't have to wait til eviction night to rid yourself with the ones you're not interested in.. you can choose where to lurk. hahaha!)

(to be continued)

MY BEYONCE EXPERIENCE BACKSTORY

I purposedly dressed down (shoe-wise) during the concert coz I anticipated that the open grounds will be so unforgiving.

I decided to wear the 1.5" wedge brown sandals that I haven't worn in months. It matched perfectly with my outfit. But as I was walking to the parking lot, I suddenly remembered another shoe experience I had. I had totally neglected my leather knee high boots for a lonngg time and when I suddenly wore them again, the pair disintegrated. To my horror! Good thing I always have baon of shoes (and flip-flops) in my car, so I was able to mitigate that embarrasing situation.

So to that point, I checked on my wedges, tugged at them and all that, and they seemed fine. Whew! I decided to forego walking back another 3 buildings to my unit to grab an extra pair of shoes and my trusty Havis.

We arrived at the Global City uneventfully then managed to get a good parking slot. So far, so good. But, as we walked towards the venue, I felt the straps of my wedges snap. Darn it. Murphy's law!

And as if on cue, just a few more steps away is no other than All Flip-Flops in High Street. THANKFULLY! So I went in and scanned the room for the closest match to my outfit, and finally decided on the Dragon pair (brown). Got my size 35-36 to-go. Hahaha. Buti na lang they were still on sale. I mean, I promised to stop buying new pairs for myself and I've done well the last few months. And that promise was broken because of none other than Beyonce! hahaha..

Anyways, speaking of Beyonce, did you notice how her hair was flowing ALL THE TIME, but all the rest of the female band members' and dancers' didn't? That must be what diva hair looks like. Harhar.

Some other random thoughts --

* The Christmas traffic has started. Going to class last Saturday took twice as long! I missed a good part of our lighting session. Haay naku
* Here are some of the common ironies in life ---

-- a man who looks so smug about his 15th floor office with a view, only to find a display of Star Wars miniatures in his cabinet (the real irony of course was finding out how much I appreciated my current state by trying to seek out another)
-- finally getting a carwash after 1.5 weeks, only to get pouring rain (with matching baha) at night
-- buying a home pregnancy test after 1 month of putting in off, only to get your period the following morning
-- realizing that the ex in my last long-term relationship (excluding the on/off relationship I had prior to R) ended up with a girl whose name is the girl version of R's name. Exact match. right to the spelling. Hmm.. If not ironic, then it's definitely freaky :)
